Congratulations! You’re Getting Married
A huge congratulations, the time that you have been waiting for is finally here and it is time for you to start planning one of the most magical days of your life! We know from organising many events and attending our customer events over the years how stressful it can be for you. So, take this opportunity to read our guide on organising your wedding.
Take it easy
Planning a wedding can be overwhelming at times as there are so many different elements you need to think about from what time you need your bridal team to arrive to the flower arrangements, dietary requirements and everything in between. If you feel as though you may struggle doing a lot of the work on your own, there is always the option of hiring a professional to help you with everything you need on the run up to your big day.
Make a list of all the priorities
Every wedding is different. Some people like to be very traditional, and others like to include non-traditional features such as no one there when they have the last dance of the night. What will you choose to do at your wedding? By determining what the most important aspects of the day are and what you both would like is vital. By outlining the priorities, you will be able to remain in budget.
What style are you going for?
When you begin looking at wedding dresses or suits, you’ll know exactly what style you like, what compliments your figure and the colour you are going for. Take inspiration from research you do and see what others have done. They style you choose will help determine much more than your suit or dress. Other aspects will fall into place such as the venue, colour scheme, the type of flowers and much more!
Create a checklist
Having an overall checklist where you can tick each item off when complete will give you peace of mind that you are making progress and you can see what is left to be completed. This will help you visualise your priorities without being overwhelmed all at once.
Tis the season…
When would you like your magical day to take place? Summer? Winter? Autumn? Spring? It’s an important question and it may also have an impact of outfits for not only you but your guests too. If you are going for the peak of summer this could also cause the price of the venue to increase and travel costs.
Guest list
It’s time to think about exactly who you would like to invite. Are you going for close family and friends only and then open it up on the evening to extended relatives? Or are you going to have everyone there from start to finish? Either way you need to give them plenty of notice to sort travel and accommodation.
Book your venue viewings
Whether you have the ideal venue in place or you are completely unsure, it’s important to look at a few different venue locations and styles to see what it is that draws you in. Even there is a venue and package you have fallen in love with, you still need to look at others as you don’t want to make a decision you regret.
Add those all-important personal touches
Every wedding needs to have a personal touch that is either significant to you and your family or it might be something only you and your partner share between you. Don’t be afraid to continue a family tradition or create your own new traditions on your wedding day.
Make sure that everything is in place
Have you booked your officiant? Caterers? DJ? You must cross check everything with your checklist as there is nothing you want to miss.
Say thank you!
A simple thank you can go a long way at the end of your wedding. Whoever has made the speech, make sure to give everyone a mention. Every person that helped you to set up, you don’t need to name them individually, everyone who has celebrated and supported you.
