The run up to Christmas starts now!

The run up to Christmas starts now!

As soon as Halloween has passed, the shops are filled with Christmas goodies. From decorations to festive party food, they have everything that you need for the most magical time of the year. As we prepare for Christmas, we understand the struggle of trying to remember everything that you need for the big day. With presents for all the family to remember, what time the turkey needs to go in the oven and if you have got everything… we are going to provide you with a Christmas checklist. Stay cool, calm and collected this Christmas!

Fill in your calendar

Once Halloween has passed, start to fill in your calendar for December. There is no doubt you will have been overrun with invitations to Christmas parties so start to add them to your calendar so can plan around them. It’s also wise to pencil in when you will be collecting the turkey, any days you have planned to go Christmas shopping or any family traditions that you have.

Start to budget

Christmas is a costly time for everyone and a time where we like to treat our loved ones. So, write a list of gift ideas as early as possible so you can pick them up whenever you see them. If you leave your food shopping and present shopping late, you will be sure to spend much more money.

Write your Christmas Cards

The earlier you write your Christmas cards the better as you can get them posted. The vast majority of people send Christmas cards and gifts at this time so there is always the possibility if delays when sending items in the post. To add to the festivities, you could make your very own family Christmas cards!

Black Friday

We all love a bargain which means Black Friday is the perfect time to get some of your Christmas presents at a discounted price! As online shopping has evolved, you can find deals all over the internet on the run up to Black Friday.

Decorate

When do you usually put your Christmas decorations up? A popular date tends to be the first weekend in December. And we would recommend getting into the festive spirit by decking your halls in early December too. Use the whole of December to celebrate and enjoy cosy nights in with twinkling Christmas tree lights.

Send your letter to Santa

It’s important that at the very start of December you send your letter to Santa Claus so that he gets it in plenty of time. Don’t forget to include your name and address so he can write back to you and deliver your presents on Christmas.

Wrap your presents

Don’t leave present wrapping right until the last minute. Give yourself plenty of time to wrap each present and get them under the tree. Even just wrapping one or two each day will save you panicking and wrapping them all at once.

Do your Christmas food shop

Go to the supermarkets armed with your shopping lists and bags for life so that you get everything you need for this time. Set aside a couple of hours to take your time and ensure that you get everything that you need. Be prepared for it to be busy and for some shops to be sold out of the items you are looking for. Always have a backup or try another shop that is close by for the items you can’t find.

Party Hard

Christmas is finally here! Make the most of a day filled with joy, celebrate with your loved ones and eat everything that is in sight! It’s Christmas, you’re allowed to be a little bit naughty.
